Helpful information on travelling to WBC2025
If you are attending WBC2025 you’re probably planning your travel to Purdue University in May. The university is based in West Lafayette in Indiana, and for international travellers is best accessed via Indianapolis or Chicago airports.
Visa and Immigration
Visa applications are required from many countries, and you are advised to apply as early as possible.
Purdue University have produced a very helpful guide for conference attendees which provides information international visitors. The information can be accessed here.
US visa requirements
Information on US visa requirements and applications is available through the US Department of State. They have a helpful ‘visa wizard’ to establish if and which visa is required. For some nationalities visa applications can take some time to process, therefore we recommend you apply as soon as possible if you require one.
* It is your responsibility to ascertain the method by which you will enter the USA and obtain whatever documents you need for this admission, as far in advance as possible. Purdue University and most conferences will not refund registration fees after the registration cut-off date due to an individual’s inability to obtain a visa, ESTA approval, or admission to the US. Purdue University will not intervene on behalf of the invitees with the Embassy or U.S. Consulate, or with the US Customs and Border Protection office.Conference attendees are responsible for checking their visa requirements.
If you have established you require and ESTA then you can apply for one through the Department of Homeland Security website.

Note: For those of you planning to stay in the West Lafayette area prior to the conference please be aware that the Purdue University graduation ceremonies will be finishing up on Sunday May 18th and accommodations for Saturday night (May 17th) may be difficult. At the end of the conference, the Indianapolis 500 (an automobile race held in Indianapolis) will be held on Sunday May 25th. Local hotels on Saturday night, May 24th, may start to fill up because of our proximity to Indianapolis.
