What is the WBC2025 Industry Forum?

The WBC2025 Industry Forum is a full-day event within the CIB World Building Congress WBC2025, being held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

The WBC2025 Industry Forum aims to provide a platform for presenting industry and academic innovation that has resulted in successful practical applications. The practical effects of such work can manifest in various ways, including:

  • Distinct use by commercial companies to improve profitability
  • Justification for changes in building codes or other regulatory matters
  • Motivation for legislation
  • Modifications by industry associations of their programs or training classes
  • Other changes driven by the direct application of the work

Program

We have a full program arranged for Industry Day, including keynote speakers, panel discussions and networking opportunities.

Keynote speakers

Jennifer Kim is Vice President and Project Director for Fluor, leading engineering, procurement and construction efforts for multi-billion-dollar facilities around the globe. She has more than 29 years of experience in project management, engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning for a wide range of projects in both domestic and international locations.

William Wooingsun Lee is CEO of SK hynix Semiconductor West Lafayette LLC. and has succeeded in developing products using TSV (Through silicon via) and WLP (Wafer level package), the original technologies of Microelectronics Packaging, and mass-producing them for the first time in the world 2013. Typically, High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) products have been successfully full automated mass-produced since 2020, and SK hynix has contributed to solidifying its No. 1 position in the HBM market.

How does our firm develop a short and long-term plan for leveraging AI?

Patrick Scarpati serves as the Director of Construction Technology and Innovation at Associated Builders and Contractors. In this role, he provides comprehensive education to members and chapters on all aspects of construction technology. Leveraging his experience, research, and industry insights, he developed the ABC AI Resource Guide, which outlines the fundamentals and practical applications of AI in construction. Patrick has been instrumental in guiding chapters and members in the adoption of AI within their organizations. A graduate of the ABC apprenticeship program and a licensed HVAC-R journeyperson by trade, he has also led numerous construction technology initiatives with general contractors and trade partners, focusing on collaboration, purpose, and process to ensure successful project execution.

Jake Miller is the CEO of EIG, an innovation agency that recently launched Roxie—a generative AI platform transforming how businesses build and interact with software. A former Director of Engineering at Salesforce, Jake brings deep technical expertise and a bold vision for the future of work. As a speaker, he shares insights on AI-native platforms, multi-agent systems, and the real-world impact of generative AI and emerging technologies.

John F. Adams is a dynamic leader at the intersection of people, technology, business, and data, John brings a proven track record of enhancing customer and employee engagement through strategic initiatives, process improvements, and data-driven decision-making. As a leader at Zekelman Industries, John leads customer service, e-commerce, and AI strategy across $2B in sales and a multi-office North American team. With prior roles spanning accounting, finance, operations, and sales across billion-dollar organizations, John specializes in transforming insights into action that drives measurable stakeholder value.

What do we need to be doing NOW & to be ready for the Future?

Amy Henningfield is a passionate advocate for progress in the construction industry, currently serving as the Midwest Contracts & Compliance Manager at Superior Construction. With over 30 years of experience, she specializes in contract negotiation, regulatory administration, and compliance oversight—ensuring the successful delivery of complex, high-impact infrastructure projects. She leads and supports workforce development efforts that engage and empower young men and women to pursue careers in construction. She is actively involved with SWiC (Superior Women in Construction), CAFWIC (Construction Advancement Foundation Women in Construction), and ICI Women in Roads (WIR), where she helps create space for leadership, connection, and growth.

Audra L. Peterson, EdS is Director of Porter County Career and Technical Education. CTE Director Audra has focused on the community needs with respect to Economic Development, the growth of Business and Industry and meeting the demands of the workforce. She carries this into the programs she has grown over the years and this is the focal point of providing state of the art programming for CTE. Her goal in the field of Career and Technical Education has always been to help students find their passion and purpose. Most recently, Audra spearheaded the first Civil Construction Program in Northwest Indiana. Her driving force has always been on what is best for her students and the community. In 2022, Audra received the prestigious Northwest Indiana Most Influential Woman Award.

Eric Fisher, commonly known as Fish, is a prominent leader in construction education and workforce development, currently serving as the Director of Talent Development for Indiana Constructors Inc. (ICI). In this role, he represents the voice of the highway, heavy, and utility construction industry in Indiana, making significant strides in both academia and industry, particularly in curriculum development, professional training for instructors, and work-based learning initiatives.

Kevin Comerford is the Director of Professional Development at the Construction Advancement Foundation (CAF), where he works closely with regional high schools and universities to promote career opportunities in the construction industry. Each year, he delivers dozens of presentations at schools throughout the region, informing students about the diverse career pathways available in construction. Beyond his work at CAF, he is also an instructor at Purdue University Northwest, where he teaches Construction Operations and Construction Law.
