When Social Sciences meets Lean and Digital Technologies -12th International workshop

The International Workshop When Social Science meets Lean and Digital Technologies has been successfully fostering dialogue between Lean Construction, Digitalisation, and the Social Sciences. Over the years, the adoption of Lean and the digitalisation of construction have been underpinning topics in the workshop. The relevance of social aspects is intrinsic to the interplay between Lean and Digital Technologies, and as such the workshop highlights the need to consider social aspects together with process and technology.

The workshop is set as a forum to enable the discussion and fertilisation of ideas on research currently under development. Building upon a decade of successful events, we invite researchers to contribute short papers exploring this evolving areas.

We welcome submissions of ongoing research that:

  • Reflect on existing research at the intersection of Lean, Social Sciences and Digital Technologies
  • Discusses the interplay between these areas; and
  • Offer insights into current research needs and trends

The workshop aims to provide a fertile ground for cross-disciplinary discussion and exchange. As such, it will comprise of keynote speeches and presentations of short research papers, followed by Q&A and discussions with a panel.

Call for short papers: 1st November 2024

Short paper submission deadline: 10th January 2025

Short paper acceptance notification: 10th February 2025

Confirmation of attendance: 10th of March 2025

Workshop final programme available: 20th of March 2025

Short paper submission

Details on submitting Short papers will be made available in due course. Short papers need to be submitted by authors that would like to present their work at the Workshop. Short papers should have a minimum of three pages and a maximum of four pages (plus references). The short papers should be developed according to the provided template.
